Samsung is on a roll. During the 2016 Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, the company has taken the wraps off its two new laptops in its Notebook 9 line which are “easy to carry” at 13.3 inches and 15 inches.

Samsung wishes to wow fans who think thin and light laptops are a necessity.

“Having a laptop that is easy to carry around but doesn’t sacrifice functionality or style is no longer just a luxury – it’s a necessity for many people,” says Gary Riding, Mobile Computing at Samsung Electronics America’s senior vice president. “The new Notebook 9s offer the features Samsung is known for – extraordinary displays, premium performance, all-day battery life and seamless connectivity with other devices."

The 13.3-inch laptop only weighs 1.85 pound while the 15-inch variant is 2.84 pounds, ideal for those who are seeking portability and those who always go on business travels and meetings.

Riding added that these nifty features are what today's mobile customers have been clamoring for.

Magnesium Design

It appears that Samsung is veering away from aluminum. These two new laptops sport magnesium chassis, which makes the machines very light.

Perhaps the company is aware that while aluminum is shiny and strong, it's still a bit weighty.

On the other hand, another new laptop in the market that's entirely wrapped in aluminum alloy is HP's Envy 13, which is said to be thinner than Apple's MacBook Air.

Specs And Features

The 13.3- and 15-inch Notebook 9 laptops come packed with 1080p displays. They are powered by Core i5 and i7 processors, respectively.

Apart from featuring 4 GB or 8 GB of memory, they are also equipped with 128 GB of solid-state storage for the smaller variant and 256 GB for the bigger one.

Samsung touts these laptops offer all-day battery life – up to 10.5 hours of battery life. Interestingly, the bigger sibling charges to more than two hours in only 20 minutes thanks to the Fast Charging technology feature.

For connectivity, the company added in Samsung Link 2.0, which allows users to effortlessly share files between these laptops and other Samsung devices, including tablets, Galaxy smartphones and Smart TVs. What's more, the laptops sport Samsung SideSync to mirror your Galaxy phone on the laptops. They also include 802.11ac 2x2 Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.1.

As for the colors, buyers will be given the option to pick between Pink and Silver when the Notebook 9s become available.

Price And Release Date

At this point, there is no official word from Samsung yet as to when exactly the laptops will hit the stores’ shelves and how much these will cost.

The company, nevertheless, hinted at an “early 2016” release date, which means loyal Samsung fans will have to wait a little while before getting their hands on these Notebook 9 laptops.

We’ll be sure to keep you posted regarding more details on these computers as soon as they become available.
