One of the many trends we have seen coming out of the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas this week is the rival of the turntable, with companies like Sony and Panasonic taking a modern tech spin on these devices. This should come as no surprise since vinyls have been making a comeback as of late.
Now, Audio-Technica has just introduced its latest turntable, the AT-LP60-BT, which has wireless capabilities.
The AT-LP60-BT Wireless Turntable allows users to listen to their records using Bluetooth wireless technology to automatically play back vinyls through compatible Bluetooth wireless speaker systems, headphones, A/V receivers or other wireless playback devices. It even remembers up to eight wireless devices at one time, so that it's ready to be paired when the user wants to start listening.
"The popularity of wireless technologies like Bluetooth wireless speaker systems, smart TVs and multi-room wireless A/V has broadened our expectations of what home entertainment can provide," Crystal Griffith, Audio-Technica marketing manager, said in a press release. "Our new AT-LP60-BT adds to that experience — it allows you to keep your turntable and vinyl in one room while enjoying your records virtually anywhere in the house."
All the user has to do is simply push the play button, and the turntable will take over, placing the stylus down at the beginning of the record and then lifting it up and returning the arm to be in the rest position when the side is over.
Audio-Technica AT-LP60-BT Wireless Turntable has an 11-1/3 and 45 RPM speed selector that supports the playback of vinyl formats from LP albums to 12-inch and 7-inch singles.
It has a built-in switchable phone preamp, and since it can connect wirelessly or with wires, it can be used with a wide variety of home entertainment systems and speakers that do not support Bluetooth connectivity. It comes with standard RCA output cables, a 45 PRM adapter, removable dust cover and Audio-Technica's Dual Moving MagnetTM stereo cartridge, and the stylus is replaceable.
The AT-LP60-BT Wireless Turntable will be available in black, white or navy for a retail price of $179.95.
