Jason Statham, one of the actors in the movie known as the "Expendables 3," nearly died according to a new report. The reason why Statham is still alive today is because he is an experienced swimmer. If that wasn't the case, the world might have to go through another tragic death of an actor.

So here's what happened, Statham was driving a truck towards the Black Sea; however, it so happens that the brakes on the truck stopped working. Apparently, the vehicle plunged into the Black Sea but Statham managed to jump out before things went terribly wrong.

Luckily for him, the team had the doors removed as he could have been trapped in that truck under water with no way out. If it weren't for the doors being torn off and Statham's ability to swim, things could have gone really bad. Chances are we'd be reading about the death of Jason Statham and the delay of the Expendables 3.

"He faced death. He was test-driving a three-ton truck and the brakes run out. It went down 60ft into the Black Sea and became impaled. Luckily we had taken the doors off before. If anyone else had been in that truck we would have been dead because we were all wearing heavy boots and gun belts. We would have drowned. But because Jason is an Olympic-quality diver he got out of it," said Sylvester Stallone.

We also came to understand that Jason Statham was a top competitive diver for his country. He competed for England on the platform and springboard back in the 1990 Commonwealth Games that was held in Auckland, New Zealand. That was before Statham became famous when he performed in Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels.

There's a video showing Statham performing at the Common Wealth games, and we have to say he is truly a skillful person. Not the best since he made several mistakes in his dives, but hey, who are we to judge when we can't even do half the things he did at the games.

Let's hope Statham doesn't have to go through another accident like this, because next time things might not turn out well.
