The next installment of the popular Five Nights at Freddy's franchise has officially been given a release date.

Five Nights at Freddy's World will launch on Steam on Feb. 19. The game will then launch for iOS and Android in the "following weeks."

Creator Scott Cawthon announced the release date on Steam and gave gamers more information about why it has taken so long.

"First of all, I apologize for the lack of updates on the websites," Cawthon writes. "My old faithful computer (which I used to make FNaF 1-4) finally died the other day. I had all of my work on FNaF World backed up, of course, but it's still quite a delay to get a new machine and reconfigure software, etc. I hope to be back up and running soon!"

Cawthon also said that he will release a demo of the game on GameJolt. A demo of FNaF World was originally slated for Halloween 2015 but took longer than he expected.

While we couldn't be more excited that the RPG game will drop in just about a month, FNaF World will take a totally different direction compared with the previous titles. Instead of the infamous jumpscares, gamers will "create a party using the huge selection of characters from the FNaF games, including the classic, withered, toy, phantom, and nightmare versions."

So, yes, the animatronics Freddy Fazbear, Bonnie, Chica and Foxy are back, but they won't be out to terrorize you.

FNaF World will be the last title in the Five Nights at Freddy's franchise, although it will not continue the horror story arc that was featured in the first four installments. Cawthon has no plans on releasing a FNaF 5.

While fans patiently wait for the upcoming release, they can check out Cawthon's eBook Five Nights at Freddy's: The Silver Eyes, which was released last month.

Warner Bros. is also developing a movie based on the horror game.
