Samsung fans in India now will be able to buy their much-loved phablet - the Galaxy Note 5 - in a new avatar. The company has launched a dual-SIM version of the flagship smartphone in the country.

As promised, Samsung has brought the dual-SIM variant of its popular S Pen stylus-equipped smartphone Indian users' way after launching the version in Taiwan, Malaysia and the Philippines. The dual-SIM version of the Galaxy Note 5 from Samsung offers support for two nano SIMs.

The new Galaxy Note 5 dual-SIM version will be welcomed by smartphone buffs in the country as people in India have an affinity for dual-SIM smartphones per Samsung.

"In the high-end segment, we saw a very strong trend of people using dual-SIMs in our A series smartphones. Consumers want a premium device, which has a local SIM and space for another SIM. We will continue doing products that will address an opportunity and we will drive the dual-SIM market in the premium segment, starting with the Note 5," divulged Manu Sharma, Samsung India's director of product marketing.

The dual-SIM variant of the Galaxy Note 5 will have the same specifications as the original and will be available in three hues: Gold Platinum, Black Sapphire and Silver Titanium. Samsung will initially release the 32 GB version of the dual-SIM handset for Rs. 51,400 ($760).

The 64 GB version of the Galaxy Note 5 with the dual-SIM option retails soon and will cost Rs. 57,400 ($849). The smartphone will be available through Samsung India's official eStore.

The Galaxy Note 5 sports a 5.7-inch QHD Super AMOLED screen with a resolution of 2,560 x 1,440 pixels. Under the hood, the phablet houses a powerful Exynos octa-core processor clocked at 2.1 GHz quad-core and 1.5 GHz quad-core.

The Samsung smartphone also has 4 GB of RAM and runs on Android Lollipop. The device has a powerful 16-megapixel rear-facing camera that offers OIS support and a 5-megapixel selfie camera.

Samsung removed the expandable memory option for this version of the Galaxy Note 5, so it does not have a microSD card slot. The smartphone also has a non-removable 3,000 mAh battery and supports fast charging. It is compatible with wireless and non-wireless chargers.

Samsung India has also announced a price reduction for the single-SIM variants of the Galaxy Note 5. The 32 GB and 64 GB variants of the device will now cost Rs. 47,900 ($708) and Rs. 53,900 ($796), respectively.

The dual-SIM version of the Galaxy Note 5 in 32 GB can now be purchased from the Samsung India eStore.
