Motorola's ultra-rugged Moto X Force smartphone with a "shatterproof" display is officially coming to India and the company is already teasing the release.

In today's mobile-driven era, smartphones are far more than just simple phones designed purely for communication. They've become calculators, entertainment hubs, music players, mini PCs and trusty companions for many modern individuals. The higher-end the smartphone, the higher the price, and some impressive mobile powerhouses require hefty investments.

When you spend a lot on a device, it's only natural to hope that it will last for a long time, that it's durable and resistant, so you don't have to make such hefty investments too often.

As smart as mobile phones have become, however, one drawback still prevails, and it involves the dreadful horror of dropping or bumping your smartphone and see its beautiful screen shatter to pieces.

Motorola claims to solve this issue with its recent Moto X Force, a high-end smartphone with a rugged and durable display that the company calls "shatterproof." What this means is that even if you drop the Moto X Force from a notable height on a hard surface, the smartphone should still have its screen intact.

The Moto X Force made its debut a while back and stirred a great deal of interest due to its shatterproof display, and now it's ready to make its way to the Indian market.

Motorola has yet to announce an exact launch date for the device, but it has been busy dropping teasers to boost excitement ahead of the Moto X Force India release. The company highlights that "1 in 3 suffer from screen crack" and 40 percent of people would rather stub their toe than crack their device's screen. Another tweet from Motorola India notes that 40 percent of people are "deathly scared of dropping their phones."

The company even offered a "Cracked Screens And Broken Hearts" infographic a while back, underlining the tragedy of a shattered display.

Cracked device screens are nonetheless all-too-common, and about one in four individuals continue to use their device that has a cracked screen, even if they cut their fingertips using it. Moreover, the company further states that 30 percent of broken screens don't even get fixed.

The teaser shows a number of rival flagship smartphones such as the iPhone 6, the Samsung Galaxy S6 or the Sony Xperia Z5, with their displays all shattered after they dropped.

The shatterproof Moto X Force is ready to change all that, but it has more to offer than just durability.

Coming as the international version of the Verizon-bound Droid Turbo 2, the Moto X Force boasts a 5.4-inch QHD display (2,560 x 1,440 pixels), an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor running at 2 GHz, and 3 GB of LPDDR4 RAM. Other specs include either 32 GB or 64 GB of internal storage, microSD support, a 21-megapixel rear camera with dual-LED flash, Phase Detect Autofocus and an f/2.0 aperture, a 5-megapixel front camera with an f/2.0 aperture and flash, and a 3,760 mAh battery to keep it all up and running. Quick Charging support is also in the mix.

The Moto X Force display is made of an aluminum rigid core, a flexible AMOLED panel and dual-layer touchscreen panels to ensure that it doesn't crack even if it hits a slab of concrete face-first. An extreme drop test proved the durability of the Droid Turbo 2, and the Moto X Force is no different.

Motorola said that its Moto X Force is "coming soon" to India, so additional launch and pricing details should surface momentarily. In the meantime, check out the teaser below.
