Following Halo 4's flawed multiplayer game, few expected 343 Industries to bounce back like they did. Not only does Halo 5: Guardians feature some notable changes to the gameplay formula, but the multiplayer modes are arguably the best in the series thus far. Sure, the single-player story may not have been the best, but the multiplayer game is more than enough to keep fans playing.

The fact that 343 Industries is constantly updating the game certainly doesn't hurt. New modes and community-created maps are just the start: even before the game launched, the developer confirmed that all of Halo 5's downloadable content would be free. The first two updates were huge successes - and now, it's time for the first DLC pack of 2016.

Titled Infinity's Armory, the latest Halo 5 update is set to introduce a number of fan-requested features into the game. Along with the standard map, armor and cosmetic additions, Infinity's Armory will add in a few notable weapons back into Halo multiplayer - including one that fans have been begging for since the days of Halo 3.

The marquee addition here is the return of the Halo 2 Battle Rifle. Since the weapon's debut back in 2004, fans have cited it as the best weapon in the series' vast arsenal — and now, it'll be available in Warzone for anyone who unlocks it. The updated Battle Rifle isn't the only new firearm, either: a new version of the Covenant Carbine will act as the spiritual successor to Halo: Reach's Needle Rifle, another coveted Halo weapon.

Of course, it just wouldn't be a Halo 5 update without new maps: 'Riptide' joins the Arena lineup, and is made up of vertical catwalks and narrow bridges; 'Urban' opens up the Warzone maps, complete with a central base surrounded by sniper platforms. Considering how good previous DLC maps have been, fans of both modes should definitely be excited.

As for the rest of the update, it's relatively par for the course: the Achilles armor set leads the pack, and 343 Industries is adding a bunch of goofy new weapons skins in as well (Carbine users should be particularly pleased with what's being added).

Thankfully, the wait for Infinity's Armory won't be long: expect the latest Halo 5: Guardians update to hit sometime next week. For details on each and every little addition, head on over to 343 Industries' official site.
