Amazon has yet again scored another Sundance win: the company and streaming service has nabbed the domestic rights to director Todd Solondz's Wiener-Dog, which made its debut at the film festival last week.

Starring Greta Gerwig, Danny DeVito, Julie Delpy, Zosia Mamet, Kieran Culkin and Ellen Burstyn, the movie is described by Variety as "a group of misfits, outcasts and unhappy couples who, at various points during the film, own a dachshund." It is the follow-up to Solondz's 1996 cult classic Welcome to the Dollhouse, a black comedy/drama that put the director on the map. As Solondz fans will note, the most significant change in both movies is the casting of Gerwig as Dawn Wiener, the Dollhouse protagonist originated by actress Heather Matarazzo when it premiered 20 years ago.

Amazon's acquisition is the latest in a slew of Sundance titles the company has picked up, all by indie director darlings, like Whit Stillman's Love and Friendship and Kenneth Lonegren's Manchester by the Sea. As of now, there is no word on when any of these movies will be released on (presumably) Amazon Prime.
