BioWare, an Electronic Arts Inc. division, recently announced a new Role-Playing Game. Shadow Realms is a new online action RPG that is set in BioWare world. This 4v1 story-driven game features four heroes on an adventure against The Shadowlord and another enemy controlled by a different player online.

The player can choose to play as The Shadowlord or against it. It's up to the player if he wants to play good or evil in this fantasy game. What's good about this new RPG is that the narrative will be released in episode as if it's a TV series. The adventure is story-driven for a one-of-a-kind gaming experience.

The new EA RPG game was unveiled at a recent Gamescom press conference in Cologne, Germany.

"This game brings us back to our roots in the realm of classic Pen and Paper RPG, but also delivers something that's completely new and innovative for our fans," General Manager and Vice President at BioWare Austin, Jeff Hickman explained.

The new BioWare RPG features a unique modern fantasy world setting and a rich story featuring magical-powered heroes that gives a different co-op four player gameplay. EA BioWare will be launching the desktop PC version of the game late next year but the company is already looking for alpha testers.

Electronic Arts Inc. has been working on this one and it was only earlier in March that it was trademarked. Teaser trailers have been released already with the latest one showing off a sample of the gameplay that will remind gamers of the old Dungeons & Dragons.

Expect great storytelling much like an old pen and paper story game. BioWare Lead Designer of Games James Ohlen said this game will bring back the old experiences in old games -- "the feeling that anything could happen."

This RPG also promises gamers a few things: leveling-up the hero, tactical combat against fantasy monsters, and being able to create one's own character.

James Ohlen also said Shadow Realms will bring back the early PC games but it's more than that. This new BioWare game will bring "the magic of tabletop RPGs to the digital real."
