The beloved "Gilmore Girls" TV show is officially in for a comeback, as Netflix confirmed an all-new miniseries that will take us back to Stars Hollow.

"Gilmore Girls" made its debut on television 15 years ago, starring Alexis Bledel as the young and driven Rory Gilmore and Lauren Graham the chatty, fun and super-mom Lorelai Gilmore.

The dynamic mother-daughter duo made fans laugh, cry and cheer for the Gilmore girls as if they were part of the close-knit Stars Hollow community themselves. The TV show didn't take long to become a hit worldwide and a comeback should be welcome news for fans.

Tech Times previously reported back in October 2015 that Netflix was considering a "Gilmore Girls" revival, but nothing was set in stone at that point. Fast forward to the present date and Netflix has now officially confirmed the good news.

Netflix US even took to Twitter to tease the "Gilmore Girls" comeback and got overwhelmingly positive reactions from fans.

Lauren Graham, who plays Lorelai, followed Netflix's example and tweeted about the return as well, in her typical funny fashion.

Netflix is yet to offer any additional information on the new episodes, their order or structure, but Variety obtained some tidbits of information from its sources. The publication reports that the "Gilmore Girls" miniseries will consist of "four separate 90-minute installments, rather a typical television series."

The all-new "Gilmore Girls" miniseries will include the original protagonists such as Lorelai, Rory, Emily, Luke and others, as well as some new characters.

As E! reports, several new characters will be making their way to the new "Gilmore Girls" miniseries, but we won't spoil the surprise.

Creator Amy Sherman-Palladino and her husband Daniel Palladino, who was a producing and writing partner, are also on board with the new miniseries. The duo will be in charge of writing and directing the new "Gilmore Girls," which will serve as the final season.

It remains unclear for now just how this "Gilmore Girls" revival will be called or when it will be ready to hit Netflix, but the cat's out of the bag now. More information should become available shortly, so stay tuned.
