The latest event for Blizzard's free-to-play MOBA Heroes of the Storm is now live, and it brings a new hero to boot.

Spearheading the Lunar New Year event is new hero Li-Ming. You may recognize her from Diablo III, but now she's entered the Nexus of Blizzard's all-star battler to dish out some damage to the enemy team. She's a deadly spell slinger who has brought all of her iconic abilities from Diablo III, so players of that game should have a good idea what she's capable of.

Aside from a new hero and updates to existing ones, the update brings a new way for players to earn some gold. From now until March 1, players will find a new special event quest once per day in their quest log. Upon logging into a match, teams that have players who have yet to complete the day's special quest will have a 50 percent chance to spawn a monkey elder that must be defeated. Defeat him and he will drop a red envelope, which will award every player with the quest 100 bonus gold.

Considering winning a match of Heroes of the Storm only awards 30 gold per game, 100 bonus gold per day is a pretty nice bonus. Players who complete 25 matches during the event will be rewarded a unique new player portrait as well.

Though you won't be able to use all your newly acquired gold, Blizzard is releasing a number of Lunar New Year-themed skins for players to spend money on. New skins for Illidan and Jaina are now available, as is a special Chinese dragon mount. Skins from last year's Lunar New Year event are also once again available for purchase, and include skins for Chen and LiLi.
