A press image of the Lumia 650 has been leaked, revealing what seems to look like the Lumia 550 fitted with a metallic frame.

A report says that the Lumia 650 will be the last Lumia to see the light of day, and it led to people speculating about the arrival of a new line of Microsoft smartphones called the Surface Phone. This goes without saying, but nothing's set in stone just yet.

Now, the smartphone in question was expected to sport a sleek and polished design, and based on the press image that recently surfaced, it turns out that the people were right. The leak came from Evan Nelson Blass, also known as @evleaks, and he shared it via Twitter.

Despite passing with flying colors design-wise, the smartphone has some pretty mediocre hardware specifications. Assuming that this is the last Lumia that'll hit the shelves, it probably won't make a lasting impact in the smartphone scene.

Back in late January, UK-based retailer Mobile Fun accidentally posted a listing of the Lumia 650 way ahead of the official launch, and the post was taken down soon after.

Before it went offline, though, virtually anyone keeping tabs on the device got ahold of the specs. The listing said that the smartphone will house a 1.1 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 210 along with 1 GB worth of RAM. It'll also come with 8 GB of native storage that's expandable up to 128 GB via a microSD card.

As for the screen, the Lumia 650 will sport a 5-inch display with a 1,280 x 720 resolution, which translates to about 293 ppi. Needless to say, it'll run on Windows 10 Mobile out of the box.

Going over the cameras, it'll feature an 8-megapixel rear snapper with LED flash and a 5 MP front shooter. It's also going to have a 2,000 mAh battery pack, 4G LTE support and an FM radio.

Looking at the purported components, it's going to be a midrange smartphone.

This isn't the first time that images of the Lumia 650 were leaked, as it already made rounds on the Internet not once but twice before this.

To wrap things up, the Lumia 650 is believed to roll out sometime this February with a price tag of approximately $283.
