The sounds of Star Wars are almost as iconic as the sights: they are ingrained in our collective memories. It's from Star Wars that we learned what laser swords are supposed to sound like, after all.

Soon, all of those classic sci-fi sounds will find new life in an an upcoming electronic dance music album called "Star Wars: Headspace." It's a compilation of original EDM from some of the biggest names in the genre, infused with sound effects from the Star Wars universe. Oh, and it's produced by Rick Rubin, who is kind of a big deal in the music business.

For an example of what to expect, Starwars.com gives the following description of the opening track from Kaskade:

"... the track pulsates and builds into a soundscape, iconic Star Wars samples like blaster fire and Wookiee roars enveloping the listener, while C-3P0 laments ...'How typical.' It captures the humor of Star Wars, the melodrama of C-3PO, and is a kinetic, dynamic production that sets the stage for what follows."

You can listen to a few of the tracks over at the official "Star Wars: Headspace" website. It's definitely not going to be for everybody, but fans of the genre will find plenty to enjoy.

The album will release digitally on Feb. 19 before getting a physical release on March 18. Check below for the full track list.
