If you've put Star Wars Battlefront back on the shelf, this weekend will give you yet another reason to equip your favorite blaster and blast some rebel scum. That's right: double XP is back.

EA's last double XP weekend went live during the weekend premiere of Star Wars: The Force Awakens. This time the weekend event is due to the Star Wars Battlefront completing more than 3 million daily challenges, which were recently added to the game in the January update. As a result, players playing the game will be getting double the rewards from Feb. 12 and run through Valentine's Day.

If you've been trying to hit the game's level cap of 50, this weekend certainly seems like a good time to play. As for those who are lower levels, ranking up will unlock more star cards and traits for you to experiment with in your loadout.

Even if double XP doesn't interest you, there have been some significant changes to the game since January. One of Star Wars Battlefront's most notorious weapons, the DL-44, has been tweaked, a new multiplayer map has been added and more. You can read about all the changes here.

More changes will be coming later this month, when a new survival map and 40 player map will be added to the game free of charge. The Turning Point game mode, which so far has been regulated exclusively to the game's free Jakku map, will also be playable on each of the game's other large scale maps.

Season pass content for Star Wars Battlefront will finally arrive in March, when a new Sullust map and Jabba's palace are added to the game along with new weapons and hero characters.
