"The Simpsons" has permeated the culture of pop for over a quarter of a century, and there is no end to its dominance in sight. The Matt Groening cartoon has cemented its place in the pantheon of landmark television, and it seems like the show will go on forever. Starting this week, the FXX network is set to air all 552 episodes in a marathon starting on August 21, lasting for 12 days until September 1.

The event is in celebration of the network's acquisition of syndication rights to the classic cartoon. In addition to the marathon, in October, FXX will launch "Simpsons World," a free website hosting all the episodes of the series as well as a slew of related Simpsons content.

"The Simpsons" has become the longest-running scripted series in TV history. Also included in the marathon is the feature length "Simpsons" movie from 2007. During the landmark mega-marathon, FXX will air all 25 seasons in chronological order to honor the show's record run.

After the marathon ends, Simpsons World will take over and offer fans a first class look at the Simpsons fan experience. It will feature access to their entire catalog of full-length episodes for the first time ever by way of the FXNOW App and SimpsonsWorld.com come October.

To get fans even more hyped for the animated madness to come, the network has unleashed a trailer for the marathon, which is embedded below. Take a look, and get prepped for 12 straight days with America's favorite family.
