The next Destiny title may be penned by the former lead writer of Halo 4.

Writer Christopher Schlerf announced that he has left the Canadian video developer BioWare and has joined Bungie, the developer behind Destiny.

Schlerf had been with BioWare Montreal since 2013, most recently working on the upcoming role-playing third-person shooter Mass Effect: Andromeda that is expected to be released in December 2016. Before that, Schlerf was senior writer on Halo 4 at 343 Industries.

The writer announced on Twitter on Monday in a series of tweets his departure, adding that he is proud of Mass Effect: Andromeda and that it will "blow people away."

The writer also showed appreciation for his time at BioWare, stating that it was "one of the best experiences of my career." With nothing but nice things to say about the Canadian developer, Schlerf is now moving on to his next project — presumably Destiny 2. Now that Schlerf has joined the team over at Bungie, it would only make sense that he will pen the next Destiny title.

Publisher Activision Blizzard recently announced that the sequel to Destiny will not be released until 2017. That gives Schlerf plenty of time to help craft an interesting story for the sci-fi first-person shooter.

Schlerf is just one of many writers to make his exit from BioWare as of late. Last month writer David Gaider announced his departure from the developer after working there for 17 years. Another Mass Effect: Andromeda team member, specifically the senior development director Chris Wynn, also left the company back in December.

Regardless of Schlerf leaving BioWare, we can all expect Mass Effect: Andromeda to be awesome. The game will be available for PS4, Xbox One and PC around the 2016 holiday season.
