Alcatel has unveiled the PLUS 10, which is a two-in-one tablet-and-keyboard device that is powered by Windows 10.

The PLUS 10 is the first two-in-one Windows 10 tablet of Alcatel, which is more popularly known for releasing low-priced smartphones.

"The PLUS 10's unique features, combined with Windows 10, provide the optimal balance between productivity and entertainment from wherever you go," says Peter Han, Microsoft vice president of Worldwide OEM Marketing.

According to Alcatel's press release announcing the device, the PLUS 10 comes in three modes. The first mode is the laptop mode, which will have the tablet serving as a mobile office. This is achieved through the included 4G/Wi-Fi connected keyboard and through the multiple USB, microUSB and microHDMI ports that the PLUS 10 features, which is rare for devices in the category.

The second mode is the dock mode, which will have the PLUS 10 serving as an entertainment center. While watching movies and playing games, users will be able to immerse themselves through dual front speakers with 3D sound and a 1,280 x 800 resolution 10.1-inch IPS screen.

The third mode is the tablet mode, which will transform the PLUS 10 into a travel companion. The device is said to be lighter by 40 percent compared to the average laptop, which will make it an ideal device for Internet browsing and for reading e-books on the go.

Other specifications for the PLUS 10 include a 1.97 GHz Intel Atom Z8350 processor and onboard memory of 32 GB, which is expandable by up to 64 GB through an external SD card. The device also comes with a dual battery system, with the tablet and the 4G LTE keyboard packing a total 8,410 mAh, allowing for usage of up to 8 hours.

In addition, the keyboard of the PLUS 10 also serves as a Wi-Fi hotspot that can connect up to 15 users to the Internet.

The PLUS could serve as a very useful device, depending on the price. Alcatel, however, has not yet released that information, though the company has revealed that it will be hitting markets in Europe, Africa, the Middle East and Latin America in June.
