Gamers have been tapping their thumbs to WWE 2K16 since its late October release.

Now, a new challenge awaits for those who feel that they've conquered every aspect of the popular title over the past four months.

Earlier this week, WWE 2K unleashed its Hall of Fame Showcase as downloadable content (DLC), giving gamers 20 of the greatest superstars in pro-wrestling history as playable characters and seven playable matches.

As part of the release, WWE 2K published its Hall of Fame Showcase DLC trailer, showing gameplay flashes of the matches, including the "Macho Man" Randy Savage vs. Jake "the Snake" Roberts, Rikishi vs. the Rock, Alundra Blayze vs. Paige, the Bushwhackers vs. the Natural Disasters (Earthquake and Typhoon), the Outsiders vs. Harlem Heat (Booker T and Stevie Ray), Larry Zbyszko and Arn Anderson vs. Ricky "the Dragon" Steamboat and Dustin Rhodes and Ric Flair vs. Japanese sensation Tatsumi Fujinami.

The trailer is action-packed, but there isn't a sight more thrilling than seeing Savage climb the turnbuckle and launch himself from the top rope for his trademark elbow drop onto a fallen Roberts.

On the same day earlier this week, WWE 2K also unleashed its Hall of Fame Showcase DLC livestream, a nearly 60-minute video highlighted by NXT star Samoa Joe joining the video game's developers as he plays as himself against Sami Zayn.

After back-and-forth action, the match ends when Joe gets Zayn to tap out with a sit-down sleeper hold. From there, Joe and the WWE 2K developers check out the gameplay between the Rock and Rikishi's Hall of Fame Showcase match.

Joe dishes out high praises to both superstars, crediting the Rock for evolving into who he has become today and Rikishi for changing with the times with his "different incarnations." That particular match ends with Rikishi recklessly breaking the rules and assaulting the referee after dropping his girth onto the Rock from the second rope.

The extended gameplay video ends with the Outsiders taking on Harlem Heat as Joe gets to sink his teeth into how tag team action in WWE 2K16 looks.

While the match is going on, Joe even talks about his decision to join the NXT ranks of WWE.
