Jennifer Garner and Jennifer Lopez started it ... and the Phoenix Suns took it to another level.

After Garner wished Ben Affleck well with that back tat and JLo called the ink "awful," the NBA franchise's official Twitter account decided to jump onboard and troll the Hollywood star with a tweet today.

Why in the world would an NBA team go out of the way to weigh in and insult an actor? Well, Affleck does have a giant phoenix tattoo on his back, making him open game to such an onslaught from the Phoenix-based team.

Check out the tweet that came from the franchise's official account here:

While the Suns' jab is pretty funny, perhaps there's truth in jest. The phoenix ink covers Affleck's entire back, with the use of several gaudy colors as well ... and it's flat-out terrible. Sure, the rising of the phoenix in mythology is a powerful thing, but we wish Ben would spend the time and money getting it removed to make sure that phoenix never rises again. As a matter of fact, that phoenix needs to be put down for good.

The Suns' tweet came a day after Lopez played "Plead the Fifth" with Watch What Happens Live host Andy Cohen on Monday and tackled the topic of Affleck's hideous ink.

"It's awful," JLo said about her ex-boyfriend's tat, as reported by USA Today. "It has too many colors. His tattoos always had too many colors," she said. "They shouldn't be so colorful. You know what I mean? They should be, like, cooler."

And Lopez isn't the only Jennifer linked to Affleck that hates the tattoo. His ex-wife Jennifer Garner seemed somewhat miffed by the Phoenix, too.

"You know what we would say in my hometown about that? 'Bless his heart,' " Garner told Vanity Fair in its current issue, as reported by Esquire. "A phoenix rising from the ashes. Am I the ashes in this scenario?" She winked. "I take umbrage. I refuse to be the ashes."

Well, whatever the case, ashes are the only thing that should be left of that phoenix following the Suns' well-timed Twitter trolling.
