A 9-year-old woke up late for school because he was out at a concert the night before, but that's alright because he has a tardy note signed by The Boss himself!

Xabi Glovsky was at a Los Angeles show with Scott, his dad, when Springsteen caught sight of their homemade sign saying "Bruce, I will be late to school tomorrow. Please sign my note."

And sign the note, he did!

When Springsteen wrapped up the show, he had the two invited backstage. They took photos and the singer signed a note addressed to Xabi's teacher.

"Dear Ms. Jackson, Xabi has been out very late rocking & rolling. Please excuse him if he is tardy," said the note.

Xabi did wake up late the following morning for school but hopefully he didn't get into any trouble since he has his tardy note with him. However, whether or not said note will be accepted also depends on whether or not Ms. Jackson is a Springsteen fan.

Speaking of Springsteen fans, Scott Glovsky is the real deal, having attended over 100 concerts in the past 30 years. It's no surprise either that Xabi had developed a liking for Springsteen's music because his dad had been singing him songs from The Boss since he was born.

According to Scott, Springsteen was so gracious even though he only talked to the boy for a few minutes. He imagined idols never really live up to expectations, but the singer lived up to all of Xabi's and his own.

While having his tardy note signed by Springsteen is truly a memorable experience for Xabi, it's not the first time the two had interacted. Back in 2012, on his sixth birthday, Xabi's family also attended a Springsteen concert and caught the singer's eye with a "Today I am six" sign, which resulted in Bruce coming over and singing to Xabi.

In case anyone wants to meet their idols, please direct all your sign-making needs to the Glovskys.
