With the Supergirl and The Flash crossover episode almost here, CBS finally released a new and longer trailer that previews the special episode.

In the trailer, Cat Grant announces that there is a new superhero in town, The Flash. Eventually, Supergirl runs into him and they decide to team up to save National City from the terror of Livewire and Silver Banshee.

The video also features some cute bickering about just which superhero is faster. But are they both fast enough and strong enough to stop the bad girls?

Here's the latest trailer for "World's Finest:"

In the episode, The Flash finds himself trapped in an alternate universe, one where National City, with Supergirl, exists. There, he meets Kara, who can help him get home, but she first asks him for his superhero help with facing Livewire and Silver Banshee.

"He teaches her quite a bit about what it means to be a hero, what kind of hero she wants to be, and even personally about love, friendship, and being true to who you are," Melissa Benoist, the actress behind Supergirl, said to Entertainment Weekly. "It feels really good for her to have someone to relate to."

Perhaps the most important question that this episode brings up, though, is does this open up other crossover opportunities between Supergirl and other DC television properties? Will Kara and Arrow ever meet? Will DC's Legends of Tomorrow land in National City someday? Although this crossover episode suggests the possibility, it also makes it clear that this is an alternate version of Earth and not the same universe where The Flash, Arrow and Legends of Tomorrow live. And so far, only The Flash is capable of traversing multiple universes.

"If Supergirl and Flash were existing in the same universe, then why has no one on Flash or Arrow ever talked about Metropolis or the fact that there's a Superman?" Andrew Kreisberg, executive producer for both shows, said. "The one explanation for that is because he doesn't exist in that world."

The crossover episode of Supergirl and The Flash airs at 8 p.m. Monday, March 28, on CBS.
