India was one of the major launch countries of Samsung's latest Galaxy Note series. Now, Galaxy Note 5 users in the country can finally enjoy the same Android update, which was made available to Galaxy S6 just last week.

Samsung wasted no time in following up the latest update for Galaxy Note 5 users. The phablet was released in India last year running Android Lollipop, now it's Android 6.0.1, also known as Marshmallow. Just as delicious, but a little fluffier, don't you think?

This update contains basically the same features included Galaxy S6 update, including an improved visual interface that also presents new animations also found on the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge.

Clocking in at 1.27 GB, the update file comes with an Android Security Patch for March 2016, and the latest TouchWiz tweaks that provide enhanced usability with an updated design. Theme, Email, and Icon/Widget settings have also been reset, as well as requiring an alternative unlock method before adding fingerprints.

Efforts in prolonging battery life have also been applied by an advanced power saving mode that restricts background data, thereby minimizing battery wastage. A new vibration pattern concept has also been added along with Google on Tap and advanced app permission.

A few warnings come with the software update, though, informing users of the necessary changes that come with the latest upgrade.

Some apps that have been installed via the earlier Lollipop version might need to be updated if Marshmallow is installed. Also, Marshmallow does not support the Decrypt device function, which means that if your mobile is encrypted, there is no way to disable that after upgrading. So if the user wants the encryption to be disabled after upgrading, it must first be disabled before installing the update.

In case you still haven't received the update notice on your Galaxy Note 5 yet, you can go to "Settings" and hit "Update now" on the "Software update" menu to manually force the update.
