Weapons clash and uneasy alliances get made in a new international trailer for the Warcraft movie.

This new trailer for Warcraft: The Beginning — the film's international title — shows what happens when two warriors must convince their people to come together to coexist peacefully on Azeroth. However, can the Alliance and the Horde really do that?

Here's the official synopsis for the film, based on the popular World of Warcraft Mmorpg:

"The peaceful realm of Azeroth stands on the brink of war as its civilization faces a fearsome race of invaders: Orc warriors fleeing their dying home to colonize another. As a portal opens to connect the two worlds, one army faces destruction and the other faces extinction. From opposing sides, two heroes are set on a collision course that will decide the fate of their family, their people and their home. So begins a spectacular saga of power and sacrifice in which war has many faces, and everyone fights for something."

Although many groaned at the thought of a movie based on World of Warcraft, this trailer shows off some rather stunning visuals, as well as what seems a compelling story. Directed by Duncan Jones (Moon), the cast includes Robert Kazinsky (Pacific Rim), Dominic Cooper (Captain America: The First Avenger, Agent Carter), Travis Fimmel (Vikings) and Paula Patton (Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol).

World of Warcraft is one of the most subscribed to and most popular multiplayer video games of all time, as well as the highest grossing video game of all time, so there's a lot riding on this film. In the game, players must choose between a variety of races on either the Horde or Alliance sides, two factions that have differing opinions on how life should exist in their world.

The Warcraft movie tells the story behind the game: the tale of how the humans and orcs first encountered each other after a portal opens on Azeroth and the orcs come through to escape their own dying world.

Although Warcraft originally expected a release date in December, 2015, the film got pushed back because of the opening of Star Wars: The Force Awakens during that month. Now, Warcraft the movie releases on June 10.
