To cater to demand from students, families, and individual consumers, California-based Epson has released a new printer for $99.99.

The Expression Home XP-430 Small-in-One printer is designed to print, scan and copy documents, and it includes wireless capabilities. Users can print files without a router or wireless connection, and printing can be initiated from smartphones and tablets.

"The compact Expression Home XP-430 is ideal for those seeking an affordable, robust and quality all-in-one printing solution," said Monika Dees, senior product marketing manager or Consumer Ink Jets at Epson. "Offering a range of mobile printing capabilities, the XP-430 allows user to print on-demand from social channels and the cloud, and scan, copy and create projects seamlessly. It's a handy tool for today's busy, on-the-go families."

The Expression Home XP-430 has a high-resolution 2.7-inch color LCD screen and built-in memory card slots. This allows for photo printing, scanning and copying directly from external memory devices.

It has a 100-sheet paper tray and templates for wide or narrow-rule notebook paper, graph paper, or unlined paper. This allows for the printing of documents, such as calendar pages and background pages.

Epson's Expression Home XP-420 Small-in-One printer is being sold at a reduced price on its website, following the announcement of the XP-430. This older model has a 2.5-inch color LCD screen, and it offers the same connectivity, allowing individuals to print from a wide range of mobile devices.

Epson recently announced new monochrome business printers on March 30. The WorkForce Pro WF-M5694 and WorkForce Pro WF-M5194 are being geared toward business customers and small networks that require more capacity and efficiency. These models have 10,000-page cartridge yields and sheet capacities of 580 sheets. The WorkForce Pro WF-M5194 and WorkForce Pro WF-M5694 are $209.99 and $399.99, respectively.

"By expanding Epson's portfolio to incorporate monochrome printing solutions, we are able to provide a portfolio to resellers and IT managers to meet a full range of their office printing needs at an affordable operating cost," said Larry Trevarthen, director of Business Imaging at Epson.

The company also announced the development of another budget-friendly printer, the Expression Premium XP-830 Small-in-One, on March 29. This printer was directed toward consumers who require a device for crafting. It began at a price of $199.99.
