Now is the best time to snag a new smartphone at an absolutely affordable price from Boost Mobile and Virgin Mobile USA.

Customers can choose from a trio of budget-friendly smartphones that include the 5-inch Hydro REACH by Kyocera, the 5.7-inch LG Stylo 2 and the 5.5-inch Samsung Galaxy J7, each priced under $230.

Kyocera Hydro REACH

The Hydro REACH smartphone by Kyocera boasts waterproof and dustproof features, as well as a Wet Touchscreen Operation. It is the next-generation model of the company's popular Hydro Edge phone and comes packed with a 5-inch qHD display, 1 GB RAM, 8 GB of storage, 1.1 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon chipset, 2,160 mAh battery, 5-megapixel rear camera, 2-megapixel front camera, 3G/4G, LTE, Android 5.1 Lollipop and mobile hotspot capability.

Design-wise, the Hydro REACH is clad in a textured back cover that offers enhanced grip as well as rounded edges for a more comfortable feel.

The phone went on sale on April 15 with pricing set at $99.99 from Boost Mobile and Virgin Mobile.

LG Stylo 2

Next in the lineup is the LG Stylo 2, which exudes a sleek and stylish look. It comes upgraded with the latest Marshmallow version of Android and a 5.7-inch HD IPS display that is paired with an embedded stylus. Other highlights include a Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 1.2 GHz quad-core chipset, 2 GB RAM, 16 GB internal memory, 3,000 mAh battery, 13-megapixel flash-enabled rear camera, 5-megapixel front camera with Gesture Shot, 3G/4G, LTE and mobile hotspot functionality.

Similar to the Hydro REACH, the LG Stylo 2 also went on sale on April 15 from Boost Mobile. Availability from Virgin Mobile will begin on May 9. The price, including tax, is set at $179.99.

Samsung Galaxy J7

The third in the lineup is the Samsung Galaxy J7, which is designed to cater to tech-savvy users at an unbelievably pocket-friendly price of $229.99. It boasts a 5.5-inch HD Super AMOLED display that allows text to appear sharper for enhanced reading, and pictures and video to have clear quality perfect for viewing movies. Its 3,000 mAh battery promises to deliver longer battery life that can last through a full day of usage, while the Ultra Power Saving Mode allows for extended standby life to ensure uninterrupted phone use.

Other specs and features include a 13-megapixel rear camera with quick launch, a 5-megapixel front camera with flash, 2 GB of RAM, 16 GB of storage, a 1.4 GHz octa-core processor, Android 6.0 Marshmallow, 3G/4G, LTE and mobile hotspot capability.

The Samsung Galaxy J7 went on sale on April 15 from both Boost Mobile and Virgin Mobile.

New Plans

Boost Mobile also offers up to 3 GB more high-speed data on top of a monthly plan, as a bonus to customers who pay on time. The Growing Data feature is available on both the $35 and $45 monthly Unlimited plans, while the third unlimited option of $60 a month would allow customers to get unlimited high-speed data. Lastly, customers who opt to enroll for an Auto Re-Boost will get a discount on their monthly payment by up to $5. The feature also includes unlimited music streaming and free mobile hotspot.

Virgin Mobile, meanwhile, has new unlimited plans packed with more data for users. Its monthly plan worth $40 includes unlimited data, call and SMS, and high-speed data of 4 GB. Customers who need extra high-speed data can also get Data Packs as an add-on to their monthly plan. The monthly pricing is at $5 for 1 GB data and at $10 for 2 GB.

Streaming music is also possible and will not be counted against the customer's high-speed data subscription. Some music-streaming providers that are currently available include 8tracks, iHeartRadio, Samsung Milk Music, Pandora and Slacker. More providers are expected to be added to the list soon.
