TiVo is debuting the TiVo Mega, which allows users to capture and store a whopping 24 TB, or 26,000 hours of standard-definition video.

The TiVo Mega will cost $5,000, comes with a total of six tuners, and is aimed at only the most serious television fans.

"Size matters. People hate being forced to delete cool stuff from their DVR before they want to or finding a TV show they had recorded is now gone," said Ira Bahr, CMO at TiVo. "Now, with TiVo Mega they can always know their show or movie is still there to watch later."

The new rack-mountable DVR is the world's largest DVR in terms of data storage, and comes with a number of other features as well. These features include a universal search and recommendation engine, Ethernet capability and even a Qwerty keyboard.

"TiVo Mega offers more than 12 times the storage of any cable or satellite DVR. TiVo Mega is the solution for the power user who wants to record everything," continued Bahr.

For those who prefer the high-definition route, up to 4,000 hours of video can be stored, which equates to roughly 167 days.

The DVR is on show at the residential technology show Cedia Expo 2014 in Denver this week, will go on sale sometime in 2015, and comes with a lifetime subscription to TiVo's service, which normally costs $14.99 per month. This will give users the familiar TiVo interface, and the ability to stream and schedule records on mobile devices and transfer shows to other TiVo devices on the same network.

Simply, the TiVo Mega isn't for the everyday TV watcher. In fact, it likely won't even fit on the average TV stand and is built to be mounted on a rack.

Thankfully, for those on a "budget," TiVo has a range of other DVRs. The company also offers the Roamio Pro, which also has six tuners, but instead has a measly 3 TB of storage. The Roamio Pro costs $599.

If that's still a little out of a buyer's price range, the TiVo Roamio Plus, which can record up to 1,000 hours of standard-definition video on its 1-TB drive, is available along with the TiVo Roamio, at a price tag of $199 and provides up to 500 hours of standard-definition video.

TiVo recently announced the Roamio line of DVRs would be remodeled for those that want to get rid of all the cords. The new Roamio "over-the-air" sells for only $50, one-hundredth of the price of the TiVo Mega.
