Do you think you have what it takes to create a most dreadful piece of art? Showtime wants to see your creations as part of its Penny Dreadful art contest.

The network hopes to kick off season three of the horror series by asking fans to submit their best fan art for a chance to win some prizes, including an authentic prop from the Penny Dreadful set and prize packs with official merchandise. The most talented fan, though, will get $1,000, as well as a commission to take that piece of art and turn it into a Penny Dreadful poster, product or comic book image.

Interested fans can submit their artwork at the Penny Dreadful Fan Art Competition on The competition begins on April 22 and lasts through May 13. Showtime will announce the grand prize winner during the third season's final two episodes, which air back-to-back on June 19. Artwork submitted will also appear on Showtime's Dreadful Gallery website.

"The Penny Dreadful community consists of some of our most engaged and passionate fans," Showtime Executive Vice President of Program Marketing and Digital Services Donald Buckley said in a press statement. "After receiving an outpouring of character-inspired Penny Dreadful fan art through our social platforms during the first two seasons, we're excited to shine a spotlight on the immense creative talents inspired by the series."

The third season of Penny Dreadful brings new horrors for Ethan Chandler, Dr. Frankenstein, Dorian Gray, Sir Malcolm, the Creature and Lily as they learn to embrace their monstrous selves. Meanwhile, Vanessa Ives must determine if accepting her demons is worth the cost, especially since that one simple act could bring unspeakable evil to the world.

Season three also brings another infamous character to light: Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. Patti Lupone, who portrayed the Cut-Wife in season two, returns to the series as a new character, Dr. Seward, a therapist intent on "healing" Vanessa. Season three will also introduce Kaetenay, a Native American who has some kind of mystic connection with Ethan.

Penny Dreadful season three premieres on Showtime on May 1 at 10 p.m. EDT.
