Yet another exploit turns up in The Division, and this time around, it can insanely increase a weapon's damage up to more than 1 million DPS temporarily.

The glitch is just one of many balance-breaking issues that the game has been facing, putting the open-world shooter in hot water. Considering the track record it has so far, this shouldn't come as much of a surprise.

How To Hit 1 Million Plus DPS

Step 1: Get a weapon with the Competent Talent, a passive ability that boosts weapon damage by 13 percent for 10 seconds after the player uses a skill.

Note: The High-End Weapons Liberator and Valkyria both have the Competent Talent. The blueprint for the assault rifle can be bought for 179 Phoenix Credits from the Special Gear vendor at your Base of Operations, while the blueprint for the submachine gun can be purchased from the Dark Zone 03 vendor for 261,000 Dark Zone Credits.

Step 2: Switch between the weapon with the Competent Talent and any other firearm quickly. About five to 10 minutes of that should do the trick and glitch the passive skill, causing the effect to stack.

Step 3: Use a skill to trigger the Competent Talent. You should find that the DPS will shoot up from about 100,000 to a jaw-dropping 1 million or more.

The Warning

As expected, Ubisoft is taking some serious measures to handle the frequent exploit problems in The Division, saying that abusers will face an "account suspension or revocation." This warning was announced in light of the Falcon Lost Incursion exploit that allowed players to effortlessly finish the 15-wave mission and easily collect endgame gear.

A Closer Look

YouTube user Simplified uploaded a video guide on how to do this, and you can check it out below to see it in action.

To boil things down, it looks like exploits in The Division is far from over, and it's safe to assume that they'll continue popping up here and there in the foreseeable future. Hopefully, Ubisoft can iron out all the wrinkles before these bugs and glitches ruin one of the most interesting games that launched this year.
