Mother's Day is around the corner, and what better way to make your mom feel special than by presenting her with a gift card so that she can indulge herself in a wide variety of choice items.

As part of its Mother's Day promotion, Samsung is making it easier for those picking up gift cards to surprise their moms.

Samsung is offering a discount when you use the mobile payment service Samsung Pay to purchase the cards. Buying a gift card via Samsung Pay ensures you save 20 percent. You can choose select gift cards in different values, whatever fits your budget. The offer is open to new and old Samsung Pay customers alike.

"Now until May 8, choose from a variety of gift cards to give to mom just in time for Mother’s Day. Go to the gift card tab in the Samsung Pay app to select and purchase your card.," announced Samsung.

The select gift cards that are part of the Samsung Pay promo in the U.S. include:

• Whole Foods
• Gap
• Southwest Airlines
• Overstock
• Spa Finder Wellness 365
• TGI Fridays
• 1 800 Flowers

You must own a Galaxy S6, S6 edge, S7, S7 edge, or Note 5, which are compatible with Samsung Pay. You must also be registered for Samsung Pay to avail of the discount.

Step 1: Sign into Samsung Pay on your compatible mobile device.

Step 2: Under "Events" on the Samsung Pay app, you will see the 20 percent discount.

A user cannot purchase more than two gift cards or a card value above $500 on a single day. The promotion is valid while supplies last and for the select cards only.
