May the force be with you, video gamers: a new Star Wars game is on its way.

Respawn Entertainment, the developer behind Titanfall, has plans to create a new Star Wars video game as part of the EA deal with Disney that allows the publisher to make games based on the franchise.

There isn't much information on the new title yet, but Respawn confirmed that it is a "third-person action/adventure game." The company is excited about the prospect of creating a Star Wars title.

"I have been playing Star Wars games my whole life, now I get to make a Star Wars game," God of War director Stig Asmussen wrote on Respawn's blog. "On top of that, I get to do it at Respawn, a studio [composed of] the most talented collection of game makers, creators, visionaries and (most importantly) advocates for the player, that I have had the good fortune to work with. And we, like you all, have no shortage of Star Wars passion."

Asmussen, who will direct the new Star Wars game, joined Respawn last year after leaving Sony Santa Monica. He assures Star Wars fans that everyone in the development office is excited about the prospects of the new title and that they will "pay respect to the Star Wars legacy at all times."

This announcement also came with some news for budding developers wanting to get in on the action. Asmussen wrote that the company has openings for all of its departments, including positions for camera designers, level designers, VFX artists and concept artists for the new Star Wars game, as well as Titanfall 2.

"Now, I understand on the surface this might sound a bit dry, but developing a game within the ever-expanding Star Wars universe opens up so many paths for us to go down, and an unparalleled playground to design within," Asmussen wrote. "We have already planted the seeds by assembling a small, but incredibly talented team, ready for the amazing journey that lies ahead. With this in mind we are looking to expand the dream."

The most recent game in the franchise is Star Wars Battlefront, an action shooter video game developed by EA DICE, which was released last year for PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
