XCOM 2's second DLC pack called Alien Hunters will bring in new weapons, armor, mission sets and more to the table.

The turn-based tactic video game has been developed by Firaxis Games and published by 2K Games. XCOM 2 was released for Windows, OS X and Linux in February this year and the game received its first DLC called Anarchy's Children in February 2016.

The game will get its second DLC on May 12 and gamers can purchase it for $9.99. However, the DLC is included in the season pass called the Reinforcement Pack.

"Alien Hunters features a narrative-driven mission, new weapons and armor, a new 'Hunter's Lodge' update to the Avenger's Armory, plus three new 'Ruler' alien units to combat," says the game's official website.

Rulers will show up randomly in player's campaign missions. Each of them will have a unique tactic and behavior. Rulers are also very intelligent, and if a player eliminates them at the first attempt, they will keep on re-appearing again and again.

The alien uints will start to appear when a player has managed to defeat a new narrative mission set. Details of the new mission set are thin but reports suggest that they will operate like the ones in XCOM: Enemy Unknown's Slingshot DLC.

Defeating the Rulers will turn their body into a set of armor, which will have special powers.

"Each unique armor set also strikes fear into the subordinate alien caste. For example, the Icarus Suit is outfitted with powerful boosters that allow its wearer to fly around the map for maximum mobility," says XCOM 2.

Alien Hunters will also introduce four novel weapons, which can be used for effectively defeating enemies. These four new weapons are:

Bolt Caster - a single-shot weapon that will have high damage on targets

Hunter's Axe  - a blade weapon gamers can throw at enemies (The Hunter's Axe can be used for dispatching enemies at close range.)

ShadowKeeper pistol - a new Shadowfall ability that guarantees to hit a target and place its user in concealment when the enemy is killed; and

Frost Bomb grenade - the bomb that freezes its target temporarily.

Apart from the new weapons, armor and mission sets, the upcoming DLC also brings a number of bug fixes, performance optimizations, improved multiplayer experience and balancing in the single player.

2K Games is expected to release a third DLC for XCOM 2 called Shen's Last Gift this summer. This DLC pack will bring a new soldier class, weapons and armor.
