The bad news is that Agent Carter has been canceled. If you're a big Peggy Carter fan, you'll definitely be left with a hole in your heart. If you follow Hayley Atwell more, however, here's some good news for you: the trailer for her new show Conviction is out!

In the procedural, Atwell plays Hayes Morrison. Busted for possessing cocaine, the former First Daughter has to work with her (sexy) nemesis Wayne Wallis, the New York District Attorney, not only to avoid jail time but also to keep her from hurting her mother's campaign for a seat in the Senate.

The job? Heading Wallis' Conviction Integrity Unit. She'll be working with a team he's picked out to turn over cases, using her brilliant mind as a lawyer to bring to right wrongful convictions. While the job mainly provides the opportunity for Morrison to help free those that shouldn't be in prison in the first place, it is also a chance for her to make things right within her family.

Atwell being part of Conviction may be one of the reasons Agent Carter was not renewed for a third season (she will be too busy to film both, after all), but ABC appears to be more concerned about Agent Carter's dismal ratings, which is a shame considering critics have been heaping praise on the show.

With Agent Carter gone and the chances of Marvel's Most Wanted being pursued very slim, this leaves Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. as the lone Marvel property left in ABC.

The Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. spinoff was confirmed back in August 2015. Had it pushed through, it would have starred Adrianne Palicki and Nick Blood, who played Mockingbird and Agent Lance Hunter, respectively, in Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. In fact, episodes of the show were dedicated to easing the two characters out of S.H.I.E.L.D. and creating a transition to Marvel's Most Wanted. Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. has been confirmed for a fourth season though, so we'll see then how ABC will be tying loose ends.
