Now that Deadpool 2 is officially a go and the character of Cable is confirmed for the sequel, actors are now jumping on board to let Hollywood know that they want the role.

The latest actor to throw his name in the hat is Ron Perlman, and if his Facebook page is any indication, he probably wants — and deserves — the role more than anyone else.

Perlman's page also features some great Photoshopped images of him in the role, and it does seem that he is a good fit.

Please note that the following contains language that is not safe for work.

Perlman also pointed out that he already has Cable's hair:

Not only that, but there is an unmistakable likeness between the comic book character and the actor.

Perlman, though, is so confident that he finally posted how he really feels:

"Actually, now that I think about it, Cable should be wanting to f----ing play ME!" he said.

Graphic designer Boss Logic got in on the campaign to get Perlman the role, too, and designed an awesome graphic that shows what the actor might look like in the role.

Perlman remains pretty vocal on social media: when he wants something, he lets it be known. Last year, he took to Twitter to demand a sequel to the Hellboy films he starred in. That resulted in Hellboy fans going crazy, with Perlman eventually apologizing to studio heads for all the attention. Unfortunately, there is still no news even hinting that Hellboy 3 will ever happen.

Perlman cast as Cable, though, could happen, and fans happily support the idea of him in the role. In the comic books, Cable is the son of the X-Men's Cyclops and Madelyne Pryor. As an infant, he got transported to the future, where he trained to become a warrior. Like Deadpool, Cable is an antihero with both telepathic and telekinetic powers.

Deadpool 2 will bring Ryan Reynolds back as the "Merc with the Mouth," but will also likely introduce several new characters, including Cable, whose name is teased in the post-credits scene of Deadpool.
