The Tesla Museum is one more step closer to becoming a real thing, thanks to a successful crowdfunding effort and a hefty donation from Elon Musk. However, the project's founder still needs your help, and this time, you can get your name engraved on a brick for installation at the museum.

If you spend any amount of time on the Internet, you'll be familiar with The Oatmeal's web comics. The man behind that, Matthew Inman, set out on a quest to build a museum in honor of Nikola Tesla, the scientist who gave us AC power and the technology for transmitting it.

However, unlike his peers, including Thomas Edison, Tesla never received much acclaim in his lifetime, nor financial success. The Tesla Museum's mission is to change that and give honor where Inman believes honor is due.

Inman isn't alone. The museum had a successful crowdfunding campaign on Indiegogo, where it raised $1 million in just nine days to buy back Tesla's old laboratory in Long Island, NY.

After that, Elon Musk donated another $1 million and promised a Tesla supercharger outside the museum, making it part of his Tesla recharging network.

Now that Inman owns the lab, though, it's going to need some work before it becomes a museum. There's also a need for removal of hazardous waste. So now, Inman has turned to Indiegogo again and is offering those who donate at least $125 a brick with their name on it for installation at the museum.

Donate even more and you can do more with your brick, including adding more text, a logo and photos of your pet onto the brick.

For those big spenders, donate $1 million and get a full wall at the museum:

"Want an entire wall to yourself?," writes the museum team. "A bronze statue of your pet, perhaps? It won't cost a million dollars, but it'll cost something. We're flexible. Email us for customized ideas and special circumstances: bricksfornik@teslasciencecenter.org."

To get your brick at the Tesla Museum, visit the project's official Indiegogo page. If you can't afford a brick, there are also t-shirts available for donations of $24, $15 of which will go to the museum's fundraising campaign.

The new campaign is already close to its goal of $200,000, which will help replace the roof on the building that houses Tesla's lab. Other future fundraisers are in the works.
