Google might soon bring out its own Google Assistant-powered Android Wear smartwatches, with multiple rumors backing the story.

Details are still rather scarce on the specifics, but some leaked renders are here to shed some light on the matter. The images come from a reliable, albeit a highly mysterious source and show that not one, but two upcoming devices might be in tow.

According to an exclusive source of Android Police, the two smartwatches are dubbed Swordfish and Angelfish, and are set to differ in both aesthetics and featured functionality.

Angelfish is the star of the moment, as it is larger and packs more capabilities. The render shows that the wearable has a crown button that could prove to work as a dial, as well. Additionally, the big button is flanked by two smaller buttons, which we admit is a bit odd an Android Wear smartwatch.

As a result of the lug design, Angelfish will not support the snap-and-swap MODE watch bands from Google. However, the wearable is rumored to sport Android Wear 2.0, which brings standalone connectivity and apps, among other goodies.

On the other hand, Swordfish looks like it is significantly tinier and less feature-loaded, and this has nothing to do with its lack of buttons. The challenging aspect of Swordfish is that it lacks both LTE and GPS hardware, meaning that it will be entirely dependent on a synced smartphone. However, this will probably make it much more affordable than its larger counterpart.

On the software side, both devices will be powered by Android Wear, but the operating system will come with a twist in the form of Google Assistant — the highly evolved variant of the voice-activated Google Now.

Also, a new type of watch face could be designed for the upcoming wearables. It remains to be seen whether or not it will showcase extra info aside the time, and how well Google manages to keep the visual interface clean and neat.

Last week, Tech Times reported about another anonymous tip that said Google is set to craft its own line of Android Wear wearables. The company faces steep competition from the likes of Samsung and Apple (that are both manufacturing their own devices) in the wearable sector, so the rumors might be onto something.

Until we get an official confirmation from the OEM about its upcoming smartwatches, please take this information with a grain of salt. Keep in mind that the smartwatch market is not precisely thriving at the moment, but Google might just have the necessary footprint to turn the tide in its favor.
