In an effort to provide a more affordable solution for professionals, the entry-level version of Acer's all-in-one (AIO) Chromebase 24 system is now publicly available.

From prices revolving around $450, Acer Chromebase 24 (CA24I-CN) is available through leading online stores such as Amazon, PC Connection and Walmart, with varying delivery options depending on the provider — model number is specified to avoid confusion with other Acer Chromebase 24 AIOs.

Specifications

CA24I-CN comes with the standard 23.8-inch monitor, 4 GB of RAM, 16 GB of maximum storage, an Intel Celeron Dual-core chipset with 1.70 GHz and of course, the Chrome operating system.

The key difference from other Chromebase 24 models is the absence of the touchscreen feature for Acer's entry-level AIO; for an additional $70, consumers may opt for the same system with the added touchscreen feature.

It is important to note too that Acer's AIO products are part of a larger Google ecosystem, which partly explains why it reportedly carries a rather steep price tag despite what others would refer to as minimal specs.

Acer Chromebase 24

Acer's AIOs lineup was previously unveiled during the CES 2016 conference back in January to add to the growing list of Google OS-based systems for the business industry. Called the Acer Chromebase 24, these systems featured touchscreen capabilities and an all-in-one system packed into a compact monitor (read: no CPU needed).

A standard Chromebase 24 comes with not just one but four built-in microphones and a webcam (we won't be needing four cams unless 360-degree videos anyone?), perfectly suitable for clear audio-visuals in online meetings and work-related video conferences. Its touchscreen features also means a relative boost in productivity as offices do not need to worry about a mouse to operate the screen, hence its so-called AIO branding.

Chromebox For Meetings

These AIO systems running on the Google OS were built specifically to cater to the demands of work environments — as its sole focus on video conferencing capabilities would suggest — and is part of Google's offered office solutions; specifically, its Chromebox for Meetings service.

Mainly targeting the professional scene, Google's Chromebox for Meetings starts at $799 with additional options raising the base price.

While it may seem a bit of a hefty price to pay for a system such as Chromebase 24, Google's offered service is a relatively cheaper alternative than other legacy conferencing options available in the market. Also, the service comes equipped with a year's worth of management and support fees that normally cost around $250.

Order placements and additional info may be accessed through Google's Chromebox for Meetings page.

As for the Acer Chromebase 24, consumers may visit Amazon.com and Acer.
