Christmas 2015 is getting closer, yet with each new detail we learn about J.J. Abrams' Star Wars film, it seems further away all the time.

There is nothing we would consider "spoilers" in this story. However, if you wish to experience Star Wars: Episode VII free of any knowledge of what's coming (and good luck with that), read no further.

Badass Digest's Devin Faraci has once again heard from his inside sources, and he reports three new items about the sequel. First, one member of the cast who hasn't gotten much attention in the media is Max von Sydow. The veteran actor usually gets ignored in favor of younger cast members like Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver or Oscar Isaac. Faraci finally sheds some light on what von Sydow does in the movie and who his character is.

If Faraci's sources are correct, Max von Sydow appears to be playing a mysterious, possibly-crazy man (with some cyborg body parts) who likes to root around at a salvage yard with Daisy Ridley's character, Kira. With Episode VII's story believed to be triggered by the discovery of Luke Skywalker's long lost lightsaber (from the end of Empire Strikes Back), it sounds like von Sydow's character quickly comes into possession of the Jedi weapon after it's found. What he does with it is a spoiler, so head over to Badass Digest if you really want to know.

Second, Kira and this crazy old man both live on a desert planet (that may or may not be Tatooine), but just wait until you hear what Ridley's character lives in: an old AT-AT that's fallen on its side! Making Star Wars adds further details, explaining that the AT-AT rests within a canyon on an old battlefield where many other downed vehicles remain. Some of the massive vehicle has been covered by sand over the years, and nature has begun to reclaim it in other ways, too. Apparently, Ridley's Kira owns a small ship of some kind (X-Wing? speeder bike?) which she parks inside the AT-AT's belly like a garage.

Man, does J.J. Abrams just keep proving his penchant for cool ideas, or what? Yowza, that sounds awesome.

Third, Faraci claims that the spy shots we've seen captured by drones flying over Greenham Common were, as suspected, images of scenes set on Yavin IV. Those spy pics showed X-Wing fighters and the Millennium Falcon maneuvering in and out of underground garages; Faraci says this is the Massassi Temple as seen in the very first Star Wars movie, A New Hope.

Why are the Rebels back on Yavin IV? Did they reclaim the Temple as their base of operations after the Emperor's death?

We have so many questions. But most of them are best left unanswered until December 18, 2015.
