Pirates of the Caribbean 5 is slowly kicking off, as at the moment the studio is only at the stage of casting potential characters. A new report has surfaced claiming that actor Javier Bardem is the villain, and that is not surprising at all.

Bardem is well-known for taking the villainous roles in Hollywood. His most profound in recent times is the villain role he had in James Bond: Skyfall. We have to admit, he was awesome in the film, and probably the most favorite person to watch. Then there's his role in No Country for Old Men, which earned him an Academy Award.

Not every actor is capable of owning the role as a villain, and Bardem is one of the few who can. We have no doubt that he will do an excellent job in Pirates of the Caribbean 5, we just wish we knew more of the villain he will play as, and how much of a threat he'll be to Captain Sparrow [Johnny Depp].

From the so-called rumored information regarding Bardem's character, he'll be playing a ghost captain who is on the hunt for Jack Sparrow. Apparently, Sparrow killed his brother, so he's now on a quest for a magical item that could aid him in ending Sparrow's life once and for all.

It is also understood that Sparrow will have a love interest in the film, and she will more than likely be a witch. Of course, she's going to be a beautiful witch because Sparrow loves beautiful things.

Before getting overly excited, bear in mind that the talks between Bardem and the studio are in its early stages right now, so things could go the correct route, or completely fall apart at the last minute.

The film hasn't started shooting just yet, though we've come to understand that it is on the verge of filming come 2015. This means, if fans are lucky, Pirates of the Caribbean 5 could be released into theaters by 2016, or early 2017 since 2016 is filled with some hot competition.

The box office is expected to explode in that year, since Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is scheduled for 2016, along with Captain America 3. Not to mention Iron Man being featured in Captain America 3, a move that means Marvel could be looking into bringing the Civil War story arc to the big screen.
