Superstar music artist Bruno Mars has announced via Twitter the imminent release of his next single, which will be entitled "24K Magic." He also used the social media platform to report that his upcoming third studio album, which is expected to include highly anticipated collaborations with producer Skrillex, is now complete as well.
As autumn rolls in, it looks like a slew of superstar music artists are releasing new singles and announcing imminent album releases in time for the busy holiday shopping season. Last month, Lady Gaga released the first new single from her upcoming album Joanne, entitled "Perfect Illusion," and although it hasn't exactly been burning up the charts, the buildup to the Oct. 21 album release has fans holding their breath as they await her collection of new music.
The Weeknd just released a new song and video entitled "Starboy," and that track has rocketed up the charts in no time, with the tune expected to debut on Billboard's Hot 100 at the number 3 position. The album of the same name hits the shelves on Nov. 25.
Now, superstar Bruno Mars has announced via his Twitter account that he will also be joining the new music party, and his latest single, "24K Magic," is due to come out on Friday, Oct. 7. While there's no official release date yet for the album from which it originates, Mars also tweeted that the collection is done, which means it is very likely that it will be released before the end of the year.
Mars, who hit the scene as a solo artist in 2010, is already one of the best-selling artists of all time, having sold over 100 million records worldwide. He's already scored six number 1 songs on Billboard's Hot 100 but is probably best known for his most recent hit, "Uptown Funk," which he performed as a featured artist for producer Mark Ronson. Although Mars' last studio album, Unorthodox Jukebox was released back in 2012, "Uptown Funk" kept him on the charts and in the public eye during his hiatus. It topped the Hot 100 chart for an amazing 14 weeks in 2014, and its video has received over 1 billion YouTube views.
Understandably, expectations for the new Bruno Mars album are high, especially due to the involvement of one of the hottest producers of the moment, Skrillex, who is coming off another blockbuster collaboration with Justin Bieber on his Purpose album. In a recent interview, Skrillex confirmed the partnership.
"I'm joining him for his album," said the producer. "Who knows if I'll do something that's more of a Skrillex thing with him, but he has a vision for his album, and I'm helping him produce it on some of the songs. It's incredible. He's my favorite songwriter to work with, and he's the most fun guy to be in the studio with."
We'll be sure to bring you more details on Bruno Mars' upcoming studio album release as they emerge, along with the inevitable video release for his new single "24K Magic."
