Another day, another Batman v. Superman leak. It seems the production can't go more than a few minutes without someone leaking classified information to the public. Over the past few months, entire sets have been revealed, along with costumes and new vehicles. Casting rumors, for the most part, had died down in recent weeks, but a new story coming out of Michigan is determined to change that.

Speaking with a local news station, an extra on the set of Batman v. Superman has not only revealed that Robin will in fact make in appearance in the film, but she will be played by Jena Malone. That's not a typo: Robin will be played by a young woman.

The report (via The Playlist) comes from news station WILX 10, a small channel in Michigan. Reporter Kirk Montgomery sat down with one of the extras involved in shooting, and while the man had much to say, he wouldn't agree to talk to anyone without having both his face and voice disguised.

The extra seemingly confirms rumors that Jena Malone would indeed play Robin. The actress had previously worked with Zack Snyder on Sucker Punch, and was spotted on set as well. The actress also hinted at the role through her Instagram account:

The short red hair matches that of the Robin from Frank Miller's classic The Dark Knight Returns, in which the mantle of Robin was taken up by a young woman. Considering that Batman v. Superman seems to be taking quite a bit of inspiration from the graphic novel, having an actress like Malone play Robin makes sense.

Also included in the extra's statement were reports of a scene involving Bruce Wayne and Lex Luthor. The scene, which apparently involves something of an altercation between the two characters, is reportedly heavy on special effects and pyrotechnics. It was somewhat strange that Luthor never appeared in Man of Steel, but it seems that has since been addressed.

In the video, the actor also stated that Warner Bros. made personnel on set sign a $5 million non-disclosure agreement. The extra clearly broke that contract, and despite his best attempts to keep his identity a secret, reports indicate that Warner Bros. was able to identify him and is now pressing charges. It's quite possible that a more perfect exmaple of karma has never before been witnessed.

It's a shame that what could have been such a cool surprise has been ruined by one extra looking for 15 minutes of fame. While the possibility still exists that Malone is not starring in the role, given all the information that's been provided, it's almost guaranteed that she will. Fans will have to wait and see if the studio chooses to make a statement or simply continues on with production, though the latter is far more likely.

Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice is set for release next March.
