Chinese smartphone maker OnePlus is said to have a bigger OnePlus 3 Plus model in the works.

In August, Tech Times reported that an unknown phone was spotted on GFXBench with hardware specs similar to the OnePlus 3. The screen size of the unknown handset was smaller than the OnePlus 3, which led to speculations that the company was planning to launch the OnePlus 3 mini.

However, Carl Pei, the co-founder and Global Business head of OnePlus, has slammed rumors about the OnePlus 3 mini.

Now, analyst Pan Jiutang says that OnePlus may be working on a bigger version of the OnePlus 3 dubbed OnePlus 3 Plus, which could be revealed soon. The OnePlus 3 sports a 5.5-inch Super AMOLED screen with a display resolution of 1,920 x 1,080 pixels.

Under the hood of the OnePlus 3 are a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor and 6 GB of RAM. A 3,000 mAh battery fuels the OnePlus smartphone.

Jiutang did not reveal any rumored specs of the upcoming OnePlus 3 Plus. However, given the specs of the OnePlus 3, the bigger version of the phone may have a screen size in the range of 6-inch with resolution of 1,440 x 2,560 pixels.

Rumors suggest that the OnePlus 3 Plus could come with Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 processor. As the OnePlus 3 includes 6 GB of RAM, smartphone customers will hope that the bigger model also comes with at least the same RAM as the regular version.

The rumored OnePlus 3 Plus could also see a 30 percent bump in battery size, which means that the phablet may include a 3,900 mAh battery for longer usage.

Speculations also hint that the OnePlus 3 Plus may have a dual-camera setup that offers clearer pictures and faster focus. With a dual-lens setup, users get wider aperture if both cameras are working together, which allow more light to pass through the lenses to the sensor resulting in greater depth of field in the pictures.

It is worth noting that many smartphone makers are including dual-camera setup in their devices to entice customers. Apple also introduced a dual-camera setup for the first time in the iPhone 7 Plus.

Many mobile phone customers like using devices with a screen size of more than 6-inch, which is great for entertainment purposes. OnePlus has not revealed any details of the bigger model of OnePlus 3, which means that all rumors regarding the phone should be treated with a pinch of salt.

Pei was swift enough to reject speculations of the OnePlus 3 mini. It will be interesting to see if Pei takes a similar stance and comments on the latest rumors of the OnePlus 3 Plus.
