Feeling lonely? In need of a play date? Look no further than eBay where some generous sellers have decided to put their imaginary friends up for auction to the highest bidder.

According to a report by the Huffington Post, eBay seller ChuckFresh was selling his imaginary best friends, Sticks and Stones, at the behest of his girlfriend, who threatened to break up with him if he didn't get rid of them.

Another seller, griffin.michael, was selling his loyal friend, James, who likes to discuss politics and "loves Chexmix and Coke."

Made up friends aren't the only bogus things that sellers have tried to sell on eBay. Other sellers who were either extremely clever, or certifiably insane, have tried to auction off other crazy items -- many of which have actually been successful!

Here are some of the nuttier auctions that have graced the listings on eBay:

Auction: Four Australian men and a weekend of "beer snacks, and a [heck] of a lot of laughs."
Starting Bid: AU $0.01
Ending Bid: AU $1,300

Auction:The Meaning of Life
Starting Bid: $0.01
Ending Bid: $3.26

Auction: New Zealand
Starting Bid: AU $0.01
Ending Bid: AU $3,000 - The auction was taken down for violation of eBay's policy.

Auction: Ghost trapped in a jar
Starting Bid: ---
Ending Bid: $55,922

Just goes to show you that with the right marketing flair, you can sell just about anything on  eBay.
