Google has been rolling out Android 7.0 Nougat steadily across devices, and now fans of the operating system are wondering when the OS will land on the Samsung Galaxy S7, Galaxy Note 5 and Galaxy S6 family.

Insiders familiar with the matter point out that the firmware will reach eligible handsets much quicker than it happened during the switch to Android Marshmallow, and we may see the aforementioned devices get it as early as December 2016.

A number of reports note that Samsung will push Android 7.0 Nougat into the S7, S6 and Note 5 during the fourth quarter of this year, meaning that owners of the devices could see an update notification between now and December.

Android 7.0 Nougat Update Schedule

Google might first release the beta variant of the firmware to a number of flagships, followed by a full release on a larger scale.

At the time of writing, no official word is out about a final version update roadmap. However, it seems that users have spotted the Samsung Galaxy S7 operating Android 7.0 Nougat on GFXBench. Should the rumors hold water, it means that Google is pooling resources to get the OS update into as many phones as possible. Additional reports hint that the sweet Google firmware is undergoing testing in Poland, on both the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge.

In other news, XDA Developers observed that Android 7.0 Nougat could ramp up the capabilities of the Galaxy Note 5's stylus.

Other reports suggest that Samsung is looking into overhauling the TouchWiz UI, which Samsung could improve by bringing Grace UX to the Galaxy S7 and S7 edge.

As a reminder, Grace UX was part of the explosive Galaxy Note 7.

People familiar with the update process claim that Samsung might roll out the firmware first to the Galaxy Note 5 and Galaxy S7 then to more devices.

Which Samsung Galaxy Smartphones Will Receive Android Nougat Update?

Here is the full list of handsets that should carry the multi-feature, well-commended OS from Google: Galaxy Note 5, Galaxy S6 Ironman edition, Galaxy S6, Galaxy S6 edge, Galaxy S6 Active and Galaxy S6 edge+. Additionally, the S7 family will tap into Nougat's potential, as Galaxy S7, Galaxy S7 edge, Galaxy S7 Batman edition, Galaxy S7 Active and Galaxy S7 Olympic edition will get the Android 7.0 update.

Keep in mind that the following families might not get the latest Google OS: Galaxy On, Galaxy C series, Galaxy J and Galaxy A.

So far, the rumors about the Nougat update have not been confirmed, so we advise all Android fans to take them with a grain of salt.
