Just recently, Samsung started to rollout a huge update for its Gear Manager application; however, things didn't go exactly as expected. We understand several Gear S2 owners have been taking to Android-related forums and complaining about not being able to view incoming calls on their nifty smartwatch.

Before receiving the update, users were able to get notifications about incoming calls, text messages, emails, among other things. However, after the update, users are saying these notifications have changed. Apparently, whenever an email comes along, the notification comes up, but it says "can't show email for security reasons."

What's more interesting is the fact that the notification is asking users to view emails via their smartphone instead.

Now, one is certain if the glitch affects all user accounts or only a few. At the moment, from looking at the Android Central forum, several users are experiencing the same problems, so it's clear the issue is relatively widespread.

"After updating the Gear app on my S7 phone I now get 'Can't show email for security reasons. View it on your phone...' on the Gear S2 watch when I get an Email notification. Before the update I would get the subject and the beginning of the email," according to Gear S2 owner on Android Central.

SamMobile is reporting that one user is complaining that email notifications are being delivered in standard format for his Gmail and Outlook mail accounts, but not for his Exchange account.

Samsung has yet to make a statement regarding the current issue, but we're certain the company will release a fix eventually to iron out the bugs.

Samsung's Little Problems

It might take a while for Samsung to release a fix for the Gear Manager update seeing as the company suffered some serious setbacks in the past. The launch of the Galaxy Note 7 went well, then things started to explode, but not in a good way.

The company was forced to recall the devices, but everything came to a halt when Samsung announced it would end the manufacturing of the Galaxy Note 7. A solid device went the way of the dodo bird due to bad battery design.

This has caused several Galaxy fans to switch over and get an iPhone 7, a huge blow that could turn out to be a long-term problem if these folks enjoy the Apple experience. However, seeing as the company is willing to pay its customers to stick around, maybe there's a silver lining in all of this for Samsung.

One thing is for sure, the Galaxy S8 needs to come good, or else it won't be a pretty sight.
