Police looking for Eric Matthew Frein have been picking the same wrong guy.

Frein is accused of killing a state trooper and seriously wounding another five weeks ago, but another man, identified as James Tully, is always mistaken for the suspect.

Tully said that he has already lost count of the number of times he has been stopped and questioned.

He would walk every day along Snow Hill Road across Route 447 near Canadensis to and from work. The five-mile trek is a two-hour travel on foot. He can't afford himself a car but, more importantly, he can't afford to stop walking to work.

Recently, however, he has found himself being stopped on the road by the police who are on a hunt for Frein, his doppelganger.

Frein may find this amusing but for Tully it has been a nightmare.

"Many people think from a distance I look like the one they're trying this manhunt for. What I don't understand is, how can you confuse someone 5 foot 8 and a half for someone 6 foot 1," says Tully. "Once you get closer, you can see there is no resemblance."

After being stopped by the police 20 times, Tully began to lose count on the succeeding police encounters. The most number of times he has been stopped was seven times when he was on one round-trip stretch.

Tully, who works at a metal manufacturing plant, said that since the incident with the police started, he has decided to always wear his company I.D. and also his reflective vest, hat and gloves.

The most frightening encounter was when a man tried to stop him by pointing a gun to his head. He was asked to lie on the ground, making it difficult for him to reach for his I.D.

The real suspect, meanwhile, hails from Canadensis, Penn. and is now on the FBI's Most Wanted List. He is accused of killing Bryon Dickson and seriously wounding Alex Douglass on Sept. 12 in Blooming Grove, Penn.

Frein was reportedly seen a few times in the woods where he has left behind explosive devices, cigarette cartons, dirty diapers, clothing, food and water.

On Oct. 21, the Pocono Mountain School District had to shut down after Frein was reportedly sighted near a school.
