The Google Pixel smartphones might be all the rave right now, but the Pixel C tablet is worthy of note as well and it's now on sale.
The Google Store is now offering the Google Pixel C slate at a $100 discount, while the Pixel C Keyboard that can turn the tablet into a laptop is now available at $50 off.
The deal is good only for a limited time, starting on Dec. 12 at midnight PT (3 a.m. ET) and will run until Jan. 7, 2017, at 11:59 p.m. PT (Jan. 8, 2:59 a.m. ET). With this offer, interested customers can grab both the Pixel C tablet and keyboard for just $598, which is pretty much the best price Google ever offered for the combo.
The same deal was available back in March thanks to a developer discount for the tablet purchased along with the keyboard. For those who just want the slate, however, the discount is not as attractive as it was back then: the developer discount slashed the price of the tablet to $450, not $499 as it is now.
Google Pixel C Tablet Specs
The Google Pixel C Tablet is considered one of the best tablets of 2016, offering advanced specifications for a fast and smooth experience. The slate features a 10.2-inch display with a resolution of 2,560 x 1,800, a Tegra X1 processor, 3 GB of RAM, 32 GB or 64 GB of internal storage and Android 7.0 Nougat on board right out of the box. The $100 discount is for the higher-capacity 64 GB version of the tablet.
The "C" in the Pixel C name stands for "convertible," as the tablet can turn into a laptop when combined with the Pixel C Keyboard. Simply put, Google basically combined the power of a Chromebook with the mobility and versatility of a tablet and came up with the Google Pixel C Tablet.
The high price tag likely limited its success so far, but the $100 discount may now make it appealing to more prospective buyers. Moreover, Google devices also have the advantage of getting timely updates whenever a new version of Android or a new security patch becomes available.
Keep in mind that the limited-time deal is good only for a couple of weeks, so interested customers might want to take advantage of it while it still lasts.
