Motorola — the Lenovo-owned company — is the latest to join the MWC 2017 bandwagon and has sent out a press invite for an event slated for Feb. 26.

The company sent the invites out for its press event to various media outlets and the invitation shows off a Moto handset against a green background. The white handset is casting a shadow which is shaped like Barcelona's famed Sagrada Familia church.

The invite hints at the arrival of a new Moto smartphone, possibly from its mid-range G-series line. A possibility also exists that the company may show off modular accessories for Moto Mods, which work in tandem with the Moto Z lineup.

Moto G5 And G5 Plus: MWC Debut On The Cards?

Motorola is expected to unleash a gamut of new smartphones at the event and speculations are rife that the Moto G5 — the successor of the Moto G4 — and its bigger sibling, the Moto G5 Plus, may be introduced at the event.

The Moto G5 Plus is the next iteration of the Moto G4 Plus. The handset leaked online and will allegedly sport a 5.5-inch FHD screen with a 1920 x 1080 pixel resolution,

Under the hood, the device will likely pack in an octa-core Snapdragon 625 processor and 4 GB of RAM. The handset is also expected to be equipped with Adreno 506 GPU.

The leaks also hinted at the Moto G5 Plus sporting a 13MP rear-facing camera with dual flash, as well as a 5MP selfie camera.

The handset is expected to be powered by a 3,080 mAh battery and will possibly have 32 GB of on-board storage. The Moto G5 Plus may also offer microUSB support and a 3.5mm headphone jack.

The smartphone will be powered by Android 7.0 Nougat based on the leaks and may have a fingerprint scanner embedded in its home button.

Even though the Moto G4 Plus launched in May 2016, it is expected that the Moto G5 Plus may be unwrapped a few months earlier.

Details on the Moto G5 smartphone are not known, but the handset will likely improve on the specs of the Moto G4.

Moto X (2017) Debut AT MWC 2017?

Images and a video of the 5.2-inch Moto X (2017) leaked online in December 2016, offering a peek into the alleged device's design and features. The smartphone could also be launched at the MWC 2017.

Come Feb. 26, Motorola will be in the company of Huawei and HMD Global as the two are also expected to unveil the P10 Plus and the Nokia 6 at press events slated for the same day.
