Apple pushed out the watchOS 3.1.3 update for its Apple Watch on Jan. 23 and now rumors are rife that the company is preparing for the next update, which will bring plenty of exciting features in it folds.

Apple reportedly plans to roll out the watchOS 3.2 update for its Apple Watch. This update will bring the much-awaited Theater Mode feature for the Apple smartwatches.

Even though Apple has not outed the watchOS 3.2 for developers, it has shared the release notes for the impending update. These notes reveal that the Theater Mode has been released in the watchOS 3.1.3. Interestingly, the update which was outed on Jan. 23 did not detail the feature.

"Introduced in watchOS 3.1.3, Theater Mode lets users quickly mute the sound on their Apple Watch and avoid waking the screen on wrist raise. Users still receive notifications (including haptics) while in Theater Mode, which they can view by tapping the screen or pressing the Digital Crown," shares the release notes.

What Is The Update?

The newest update i.e. watchOS 3.2 will feature the Theater Mode, amongst other features. This will be a much-required addition to the smartwatch, as it will save the user from the various glances and frowns they get in theaters.

Currently, the screen lights up whenever the user moves their hand and notifications come with a loud ping. This can cause irritation to other people. The newest update is set to change all that.

What Is The Theater Mode?

The watchOS 3.2 will incorporate the Theater Mode, which will mute the sound of incoming alerts, as well as turn the lift-to-wake function off. This means that the Apple Watch's screen will not light up in this mode.

Users will continue to receive notifications but in a haptic mode. The update ensures that fellow theater goers will not be disturbed. The screen will be accessible by tapping it or pushing the crown button on the smartwatch.

The Theater Mode is rumored to be making its way to iOS 10.3 as well and it remains to be seen which Apple device will incorporate the feature better.

What Else Comes In Version 3.2?

The release notes also share the inclusion of the SiriKit in watchOS 3.2. This means that Siri will be offering its services for more apps on the Apple Watch.

With the SiriKit getting embedded into the smartwatch, it will be automatically able to connect to the voice assistant and users will not need to keep their iPhone close.

Release?

There is no mention of the official date of release for the watchOS 3.2 update and it has not been decided whether this version will be developed as beta or released as a final version for instant download and use.

The watchOS 3.1.3 update brought minor security fixes, whereas watchOS 3.2 is being touted as a major one. With this update, Apple will look to come at par with Android Wear OS, which already has a Theater Mode installed in its watches.

The Apple Watch may be doing well in the wearable space but it is not resting on its laurels. With this update, Apple will look to steam ahead of its rivals.
