Currently, Xiaomi Mi Note 2 is available in mainly three colors — black, gold, and silver, which are quite popular among the users.

Since its launch in October 2016, the Mi Note 2 has been much talked about and continues to be in the spotlight.

The company had showed off three new colors for the smartphone at the recently concluded CES 2017, namely pink, green, and purple, and judging by a new leak, Xiaomi has another hue lined up for the Mi Note 2.

Xiaomi Mi Note 2 In Blue Coral As Well?

Rumors are swirling that there may be a seventh color option — Blue Coral. This news comes courtesy of Xiaomi Today. The publication shared some images where a skier used the Blue Coral Mi Note 2.

"As we can judge from the photos they hold a blue coral Xiaomi Mi Note 2 that looks amazing. But what's more interesting we haven't heard about this color options," noted the publication.

The images reportedly leaked on a Weibo account seem authentic.

Samsung introduced a Blue Coral color option for its Galaxy S7 edge recently, and it seems Xiaomi is on the same path. With multiple color options to choose from, Xiaomi is looking to increase the attractiveness of the Mi Note 2.

Usually, when a company brings forth a new hue for an existing handset, it creates some excitement among consumers and ends up infusing a new lease of life to the device. This marketing ploy often helps fuel the sales of the existing device.

With the proposed arrival of an alleged Blue Coral option for the Mi Note 2, it seems Xiaomi is eyeing the same strategy.

To refresh your memory, the Xiaomi Mi Note 2 has an innovative sandwich-construction that is complemented with a 3D front glass and a back with symmetrically curved sides. The curved display is quite similar to the now-defunct Samsung Galaxy Note 7.

The Mi Note 2 sports a 5.7-inch FHD OLED screen and houses a Snapdragon 821 chipset like the Google Pixel XL. The device touts 4 GB of RAM and has 64 GB of onboard storage.

The device housed an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor on the rear. The Mi Note 2 also includes a USB Type-C port.

Initially, the Xiaomi Mi Note 2 was available in Piano Black and Glacier Silver, but with the recent leak, it seems that the smartphone is set to get a new addition. While the pink, green, and purple variants of the Mi Note 2 are yet to be made available to consumers, they hope that the Blue Coral option will be released soon.
