Huawei has decided to end all confusion related to its Huawei P8 Lite (2017) smartphone. It has decided to rename the mid-range model and sell it in some select markets under a new name - Huawei Nova Lite.

For the uninitiated, in 2015 Huawei launched its first P8 Lite model. The Huawei P8 Lite (2017) is the successor of P8 Lite 2015. Since both the devices have the same name it can be confusing for consumers, which in turn impacts the company.

In a bid to end this confusion Huawei has decided to retail Huawei P8 Lite (2017) as Nova Lite in some specific markets for the time being. The company had already announced that P8 Lite (2017) will be available in some markets by the end of January this year.

The news that P8 Lite (2017) will be rebranded as Nova Lite, for ease of understanding came through famous leakster Evan Blass who goes by the twitter name @evleaks. He tweeted a couple of pictures claiming that the model will be renamed Nova Lite.

It seems from the tweet that nothing else will be changed in the phone other than its name. If the leaks are true, then the question arises whether P8 Lite (2017) will fall under the Huawei P series or change its category and be under the Huawei Nova series.
